According to the 1959 Act of the Uttar Pradesh Nagar Nigam, the Nagar Nigam was responsible for availing a number of services to the people of Bareilly and in accordance with 74th amendment; the duties of the nagar nigam were increased.

Following Are The Major Duties/Services Of The Nagar Nigam Of Bareilly:

·         Removal of garbage heaps

·         Catching the rowdy dogs or Dog catching

·         Releasing the dried and dangerous trees 

·         Maintaining and repairing drains

·         Park Maintenance

·         Cleaning and sanitizing Garbage Houses

·         Any other work related to the disposal of garbage

·         Catching the rowdy animals or Cattle catching

·         Cleaning and sanitizing drains and public streets

·         Guarding green trees

·         Disposing the bodies of dead buffaloes and cows

Taking actions to prevent the increase of infectious/ contagious diseases by spraying antibacterial medicines with the help of Spray Gun, essentially for Malaria, Dengue, etc.
